14 DEC 2022 – ALL INDIA – GOOD NEWS FOR ECHS DEPENDENTS – As you are aware Treatment in Service Hospitals hitherto is allowed for ESM, Spouse & Children below 25 years only. Rest of the ECHS Beneficiaries were being referred to Empanelled Hospitals directly by the Polyclinics. MoD has now approved treatment of these ECHS Beneficiaries at Service Hospitals on full payment & get Reimbursement. This payment is called as Hospital Stoppage Rolls (HSR) that is charged. For example Base Hospital , Delhi & Command Hospital Air Force Bangalore (CHAFB) have this facility. When you launch CHAFB site, you will see a message that this facility will be shifted in 01 month to an Online Registration System(ORS) hosted by MOHFW , GoI Web portal. It is possible that other AFMS Hospitals may also shift to ORS. SCENARIO # 1 -- CHIP on the Card is Defective. The OIC Polyclinic will check and confirm if the CHIP is defective using his compute system. If it is confirmed that the CHIP is defective , action will be taken to get the card replaced by OIC. Till you receive the new card, you download Temporary Slip get it signed by OIC & use it . SCENARIO # 2 -- The card is PHYSICALLY DAMAGED . In this case, you have to order for a Reprint of 64 kB Card Online & use a Temporary Slip till you receive a new card

19 APR 2022 - A message was posted in WhatsApp & other social media platforms on 27 Mar 2022 & later , about denial of admission at CHAFB to Veteran Cmde Jai Misra (Retd). Extract of an Informal Investigation carried out at CHAFB and Actions & Improvements brought in are shared here. Patient was brought in at about 2330 Hrs in a critical condition. As needed treatment started by the DMO to stabilise the patient. The NOK was informed the need to admit the patient at CHAFB or option to admit in an Empanelled Hospital. The NOK preferred Empanelled Hospital . At no point admission at CHAFB was denied. Corrective measures & Improvement in managing patients reaching CHAFB have been put in place – 1. Advisory has been issued for strict compliance to admit all entitled veterans to CHAFB (2). Instructions have also been given to all DMOs and Specialists to admit all patients (including entitled veterans) reporting to HMC CHAF at night who warrant admission , for strict compliance. (3) An "ECHS REFERRAL REQUEST FORM" has been instituted at CHAFB, wherein a Veteran can exercise in writing the right for Referral and Treatment at an ECHS empanelled hospital. ! 12 NOV 2021 – ALL INDIA - IMPORTANT INFORMATION – 64 kB ECHS Card STOPS WORKING – Originally Published on 14 Sep 21. When you collect the card from Polyclinic or Station HQ office, it is to be digitally activated by the Office by entering the OTP received by you. In case the OTP has not been entered while handing over the card, your 64 kB card will NOT work NOW when you use it in the Polyclinics. An error message will be displayed stating that your card is not activated. In such cases, you need to visit the office that issued the card so that the OTP is entered in the system. Three Options are possible – OPTION 1 - If you have received the OTP earlier, the same OTP can be entered in the System. OPTION 2 - The concerned Polyclinic / Stn HQ Office can request for a OTP from Regional Centre, enter the same in the System. OPTION 3 - You can download the Temporary Slip from the site , get it signed by OIC Polyclinic & use it till you get the OTP entered in the system. It takes 24 Hrs from OTP entry , for the card to get activated

For extension of stay between 13 to 30 days, the Hospital must initiate a Request for Approval. This uses a form called Appx A. Similarly, for Extension of stay between 31 days to 60 days, a form called Appx B is initiated. For stay beyond 60 days, form Appx C is initiated.
